Mineral walk: Meije, glaciers, climate, for young and old, beginners or experienced. Pebbles, rocks and landscapes tell us the story of the mountain while glaciers and moraines tell us the story of the climate, the landscape and man.
During a lovely walk, we will collect stones and pebbles, which will tell us about the Meije, from the Romanche, and glaciers. How did these rocks reach us? We will eliminate the various hypotheses to find the transporters of our pebbles and stones...
What family are these rocks from and how were they formed? We will validate our hypotheses through small, fun experiments and will be able to play crystal games for young and old. We will use comparisons with known natural objects to describe in what context these rocks formed.
Upon reaching the majestic landscape on the Lautaret glacier and the Aigle refuge, we will observe the contact between these rocks in the landscape and anecdotes about cakes (yes! Really!) will allow us to make hypotheses on the formation of the Meije...
Finally, the glacier's imprint on the landscape will tell us about climate changes. And maybe we will be lucky enough to find fossils and crystals?

Further information) :
Good waterproof shoes. Take a backpack with at least 0,5l of water per person for the 1/2 day and some snacks, sunglasses, a hat, a rain jacket and warm clothing (+ poles, ready on request). Loan of binoculars and magnifying glasses.
