These outings are an opportunity to discover mountaineering and the magnificent world of a glacier through routes without technical difficulties in the heart of the Ecrins massif in the Hautes Alpes. The Girose glacier stretches out at the foot of the Ruillans station, the arrival point of the cable car La Grave / the MeijeTogether with the Mont de Lans glacier, it forms the largest ice cap in France (6 km from east to west). Its crevasses and seracs are within reach of almost any foot – provided you are accompanied and roped.
Description
Head towards the Col de la Lauze on the Girose glacier or towards the Col du Replat or the Col du Clot des Cavales and enjoy magnificent panoramas from the Vercors to Mont Blanc, from the Vanoise to Mont Thabor, the pretty peaks as far as the eye can see and right next to the Meije, majestic. During the outings you will approach the basics of glacier evolution.
