Gaston Chaissac (1910-1964), is an artist of Art Brut, he will evolve throughout his life; He is inspired by the research of his contemporaries (like Jean Dubuffet) while constantly renewing his gesture. He creates totems in recycled materials, his flat areas of color outlined in black and his half-abstract, half-figurative compositions make his work easily recognizable.
