Stage arts – Ecole Buissonnière "sculpture méthode Giacometti"
Sculpture session inspired by the artist Alberto Giacometti
Alberto Giacometti was a Swiss modernist sculptor, painter and graphic artist, born in Borgonovo, in the Bregaglia Valley, on October 10, 1901, and died in Chur, on January 11, 1966. Living and working mainly in Paris from 1922, he remained connected to his native mountain valley of the Bregaglia Valley; there he met his family and devoted himself to his artistic work.
Giacometti is one of the most important sculptors of the 1th century. His work is influenced by Cubism, Surrealism and philosophical questions about the human condition, as well as by existentialism and phenomenology. Around 1935, he abandoned his Surrealist work to devote himself to "compositions with figures". Between 1938 and 1944, his figures measured a maximum of seven centimetres: they had to reflect the distance at which he saw the model.
