> Take advantage of rising air masses, go higher, further, longer!
The "Upward flight" offered by the AkèneFly Parapente instructors is the opportunity to go and tickle the highest peaks of the Grandes Rousses massif overlooking theAlpe d'Huez !
The DMC gondola lift gives us easy access to the take-off point located at an altitude of 2700m. During the journey, your instructor will be able to introduce you to the main principles of mountain aerology and in particular the formation of updrafts... Because once in the air, the game will be to surf these masses of warm air to offer you more than a simple gliding flight to the resort: what we call a thermal flight. Like a bird of prey, we will try to rise even higher by following the updrafts. The spectacle is astonishing! Little by little, Lac Blanc is revealed beneath our feet, the Oisans valleys take shape and the surrounding peaks seem within reach. This gain in altitude (without an engine!) will allow us to extend the flight time, offer unsuspected views from the ground and, for the most daring, will perhaps give us the opportunity to perform a few more sporty maneuvers!
This aerial ride will take us back to Alpe d'Huez 1800m, at the foot of the cable cars, from where you can at a glance retrace the incredible route taken between ridges and mountain pastures.
