From the small paths between the hamlets to the famous GR 54, the centuries-old trails of Clavans-en-Haut-Oisans transport you to postcard settings.
Hiking enthusiasts will have plenty to do, especially since, from Clanvans-en-Haut-Oisans, it is possible to access the GR®54, the milky lake of Quirlies, the massif of Grandes Rousses (Alpe d'Huez), the massif of Arves (Pic du Mas de la Grave) and therefore Savoie. "Clavans" also means "key" in patois, because the village guarded, in ancient times, the entrance to the passes of Valette and Quirlies, on the old Savoyard border.
This is enough to make your mouth water. But the choice is vast, so complete the list with the local topo-guides.
