Brevet de Randonneur des Alpes BRA 2025
12July13July2025
The Brevet Randonneur des Alpes (BRA) is THE oldest mountain cycle tourist event. Created in 1936, this event is celebrating its 52nd edition.
For the third time, the hike will start from the municipal center of Bourg d'Oisans.
Whether you choose the BAC option (Saturday 12 and Sunday 13) or BRA (Sunday 13 July) your hike will begin with the ascent of the col de la croix de fer (alt 2067 m) going up the valley of the Eau d'Olle, with its landing at col du Glandon allowing you to discover Mont Blanc beyond the Col de la Madeleine.
Au col de la croix de fer You will take the time to admire the crystalline trident of the Aiguilles d'Arves before crossing the village resorts of St Sorlin and St Jean d'Arves downhill.
Then the Mollard pass (alt 1615 m) will take you into the Maurienne valley, via Gévoudaz.
At St Michel de Maurienne, you will be halfway there and will begin the ascent of the Col du Télégraphe (alt. 1567 m), before sliding towards Valloire (alt. 150 m), a pretty village resort with 17 hamlets and bell towers.
The Galibier pass (alt 2642 m) will then be within your reach at the end of a 3-stage climb: in 2 km you will be at Verneys, then 7 km further at Plan Lachat (alt 1980 m) and the last 8 km will no longer be able to stand in the way of your success.
However, you will have to be wary of the peaks' intoxication during the descent to the Lautaret pass.
To reach Bourg d'Oisans (alt 720 m) if your strength does not fail you, take the BRA+ or BAC + option which passes by the Armentier belvedere (alt 1320 m) or the super BAC or super BRA option passing by the col de Sarenne (alt 1999 m)
For those who would like to take part in the festival by taking a shorter route, we are offering a discovery route through Oisans on Sunday to meet the BRA.
This mountain bike weekend will certainly be a great challenge in the life of a seasoned cyclist.
