The Chœur des Estives has been singing since 2010: it is the result of the feat of putting together a major work from the polyphonic repertoire in a week of hard work. This year, it will reprise Gabriel Fauré's Requiem.

Fauré's Requiem has the particularity of being a work that is not sad - it is even said that Fauré wrote it because he was irritated by the sadness of the Requiems he had to play as an organist. The Chœur des Estives offers you the organ version of this magnificent work.

The Requiem is composed of the usual chants of this mass:
1. Introit and Kyrie
2. Offertory
3. Sanctus
4. Pie Jesu
5. Agnus Dei
6. Free me
7. In paradisum

The original edition did not include the Libera me, a piece written separately by Fauré. It was in 1900, during a second edition, that he added it to his work to obtain the version most commonly sung today.
