Conférence : Les territoires de montagne face aux risques naturels, quel rôle pour les scientifiques ?
25August2025
With Olivier Gagliardini, glaciologist at the Institute of Environmental Geosciences and Philippe Garnier, architect and teacher-researcher at the National School of Architecture in Grenoble.
The exceptional climatic events which led, in June 2024, to the destruction of the village of La Bérarde and the isolation of the Vénéon valley have led to the involvement of a significant number of scientists from various disciplines, both for the retro-analysis of the event and for the reflection relating to the repair of the damage.
This involvement interacts with the mobilization of the populations concerned, the administration, the socio-economic world, and decision-making bodies.
In this diverse network of actors and actresses, how can scientists position themselves?
What is the weight of their contributions in the context of a natural disaster?
