The Écrins Battery, a unit of the 93rd Mountain Artillery Regiment, is twinned with the commune of Les Deux Alpes, demonstrating a close and lasting partnership. This special relationship translates into mutual collaboration in the development and implementation of various joint projects.
The 93rd RAM, heir to the Alpine batteries and the 1st Mountain Artillery Regiment, is located in Varces-Allières-et-Risset, on the outskirts of Grenoble.
It is the last French regiment specializing in mountain artillery and is distinguished by its ability to deploy its equipment in difficult-to-access mountainous terrain.
