Derby de la Meije à La Grave
02April03April2027
This now legendary race is an opportunity for nearly 700 competitors from more than 20 different countries to compete in the famous valleys of the Meijeto participate in mountain workshops and to party.
The race format has remained the same since its inception in 1989: the start at 3550m altitude at the Dôme de la Lauze, a mandatory passage through the Col des Ruillans at 3200m, and a finish line 2000m lower, depending on snow conditions. Apart from these three points, the choice of route is entirely free and takes place off-piste for the majority of the course.
You can ski, snowboard, telemark, monoski or any other sliding device, in teams or individually, in costume or not.
A team must consist of 3 people with at least one female representative and with 3 different sliding devices.
Riders of all levels descend this 9km course at varying speeds: the best take less than 7 minutes and the less hurried 2 hours… to each their own race! Costumes, provided they are not dangerous, accentuate the festive side of this event.
The Derby of the Meije It is first and foremost the big race on Saturday, but it is also the many mountain workshops before the event, its richly endowed raffle, not forgetting the music, entertainment, concerts and the big party after the race.
