Screening of the documentary “ISS, Megastructure of Space”
The ISS, the International Space Station, is undoubtedly the most ambitious orbital project ever built. While this giant, over 9700 m² structure allowed humans to prepare for long-term stays in weightlessness, a preamble to space exploration projects to Mars, it also allowed men and women from around the world to live and work together. No fewer than sixteen nations participated in the construction of this 2-ton steel monster.
But how did the engineers and astronauts go about assembling this space station? How does it work? How do you get there? How do you leave it? How do you sleep, eat, breathe there... and where does it get its energy from? This film invites us to dive behind the scenes at the International Space Station.
