Association – Les amis de l'église Saint-Martin de Villar d'Arène

The association was created in 1995 and its leaders have worked tirelessly since then. In 2016, the association commissioned a restoration project from a heritage architect. The association proposed the project to the municipality, committing to provide assistance. The stained glass windows in the choir were removed. The stained glass windows in the transept and nave were protected with macrolon (honeycomb plastic). The work to make it airtight and watertight followed. The foundations of the building were consolidated. The interior fittings still need to be carried out, including the floor, electricity, stained glass windows and the restoration of the sacristy.
