Association under the 1901 law offering scientific hikes and screenings of scientific adventure films in the mountains to make science accessible to all through the mountains
The association's objectives are to:
Make scientific and technical professions attractive and accessible; attract young people, particularly those aged 15-25, to science, research, scientific and technical studies;
Promote the work of researchers;
Promoting mountain areas;
To provide a better understanding of its natural and cultural spaces, in a spirit of popular education, and to raise awareness of environmental protection issues.
Encourage cinematographic and audiovisual creation by advising project leaders and organizing events bringing together scientists, directors, producers and broadcasters.
Raising awareness among scientists of the need to communicate with the general public.
Raising awareness among the media and journalists of the wealth of current scientific news.
Demonstrate the capacity of mountain territories to adapt to global changes and to innovate.
To do this, it organizes several events:
_Les Rencontres Montagnes et Sciences is a friendly festival of scientific adventure films in the mountains. After each film, the public can talk with scientists, directors, and adventurers. The association offers 2 programs: one reserved for schools, developed with primary and secondary school teachers, and one designed for the general public (families, students, young audiences, etc.).
_The Mountain and Science Hikes allow you to live a new experience in the mountains, in the company of a scientist and a mountain guide. No physical or scientific prerequisites are necessary to participate.
