Association – Rencontres de la Haute Romanche

The Rencontres de la Haute Romanche are above all a space for MEETINGS between professional artists and residents – between specialists and occasional artists.

We imagine them as “a laboratory of artistic democracy”, a space for experimentation, expression and promotion of forms of co-creation – or shared creation – in their greatest diversity, their greatest audacity, their greatest poetry.
We claim the multiplicity of "cultures of culture", the possibility that a spectacle offer can rub shoulders, without hierarchy of value, with participatory projects and works of shared creation.

We think of them for and with active, complicit citizens who, if they are not all artists, can each be put in a position to act creatively; if they are not all operators or cultural mediators, can each take part in the construction and development of a project.

Since 2012, the artistic direction of the Rencontres de la Haute Romanche has been entrusted to the company L'Art de Vivre. It is developing a project based on a participatory approach, co-construction and territorial development in complementarity with the proposals for the distribution of shows developed by other cultural actors.
It is organized in two directions: the establishment of shared creation residencies, internships and various interventions on the scale of the Pays du Grand Briançonnais and the organization of a spectacular highlight “The edition of the Rencontres de la Haute Romanche” in the Canton of La Grave-Villar d'Arène”
