In his workshop Venosc, Elisabeth offers you a moment of meditation and movement followed by the sculpture of green wooden objects. A sensory, tranquil and active invitation to the heart of nature
Elisabeth invites you to settle down in a moment of tranquility, then to notice the way you move before tackling the sculpture of green wooden spoons or “spoonmaking”, very popular in Anglo-Saxon countries.
You will learn how to use knives and other blades safely and discover the pleasure of cutting green wood that is much softer than when it is dry. You will discover how to connect awareness, presence and action and transfer this into daily life. You will take with you the object that you have made as a souvenir of this calm, constructive and productive moment.
You will be able to participate in 4 Workshops of successive levels:
1. Introduction to the straight knife / making a butter knife
2. Mastering the hatchet / making a spatula
3. Hollowing with a crooked knife / size of a kitchen spoon
4. Perfection and finishing

Thursday afternoon: Introduction, in the garden of Lauvitel Lodge at La Danchère (except June 25, July 9 and 23)

Bilingual, Elisabeth can teach in English as well as in French depending on the group.
How BOIS et SENS was born:
Having been a woodworker since the age of 14, Elisabeth chose the profession of cabinetmaker after her baccalaureate and followed a highly regarded training course in England. Back in France, she opened her own workshop in Normandy. Seven years later, despite a certain success in her profession, Elisabeth was worn out by the harsh and solitary life of the independent craftsman. It was then, at the age of 34, that she encountered Fasciatherapy, Perceptive Pedagogy and Mindfulness Meditation founded by Danis Bois and his team. She quickly chose to make it her second profession.
Long torn between the active noise of one and the meditative silence of the other, she dreams of uniting her two passions in the same activity.
The recent translation of a book on green wood sculpture opens the prospect of this possible union: the silent workshop with simple tools and no machines. The material is easily accessible and close to nature. At the same time, "chance" brings Elisabeth successively to Isère, then to Venosc where she opened this BOIS et SENS workshop in 2019 to share her talents which are so dear to her heart.
