A physicist for many years, Jean-Noël has since retrained for an artistic career. The basics of elementary physics have allowed him to quickly progress in his painting technique. He currently paints pictures of the mountains, habitats, and inhabitants of Oisans. He is also beginning a series of large-scale paintings illustrating human discoveries and inventions. His artistic process is ever-changing. He shares his studio with singer-songwriter Sophie Matin-Hautinguiraut.
