Boucle de la Grave à Villar d'Arène
A gentle hike to discover the villages of La Grave and Villar d'Arène in an exceptional mountain environment at the foot of the legendary and prestigious Ecrins peaks.
From the tourist office towards Villar d'arène, take the road which goes down opposite the hotel "Le Sérac" to reach the Arboretum.
At the bottom of the descent, continue straight on to cross the Romanche.
Take the path to the left of the bridge. At the fork, follow the GR50/54 which climbs towards Les Vernois. At this point, you will be overlooked by the Tabuchet glacier and the Meije.
Continue then cross the wood of “la Chal d'Outre” by a wide path which leads to a bridge to cross the Romanche again and enter Villar d'Arène. (1 m)
Go up to the Auberge des 3 Frênes then continue on the village square.
Go around the Saint Martin church then go down and take the path to the left of the cemetery.
Continue straight on, walk 100 meters along the edge of the national road before being able to get back on the path.
The return path is on the other side of the Romanche, opposite the one on the alley.
You arrive at the first bridge at the Arboretum.
