Historic muleteer path to reach Oulles in the Lignarre valley

To start your journey, park in the Paute car park, following the road toOrnon. Then, return to the D526 to join the Martinet track opposite, which runs alongside the Lignarre. This ends next to the Poyat dam where a grassy path continues near the road. Continue to the left to join a winding path with fixed ropes and safety nets leading to the main road.
Take the road until you reach the signOulles and climb up to the first bend where the start sign for the hike is located. This first part crosses the road twiceOulles in the pines before arriving in a more mineral atmosphere. When you cross the road for the fourth time at the bend of the Angel, warning signs will appear and you are then on the "Virées de la Madone". Several narrow passages equipped with cables await you and will offer you a magnificent panorama over the entire valley. After crossing a slate quarry and gravelly slopes, you will arrive in the Rivoire valley. and continuing your journey, you will again cross the road several times between woods and pastures
Once at Oulles, take the opportunity to visit this pretty mountain village and enjoy its view of the valley and the Grandes Rousses. Return to the village entrance and follow the signs for Piret. Once you reach the pylon, make a round trip to Piret for the view of the Bourg-d'Oisans valley from this promontory. Back at the Piret pass, follow the path towards Bourg-d'Oisans and cross the ruins of Malaine, an old mountain village. At the end of this path, turn right towards La Paute, your starting point.
