Brèche Pacave départ téléphérique 2400
From the 2400 m cable car station, crossing the Brèche or the Pacave pass means venturing into the high mountains and discovering the northern slope of the Meije.
When you exit the cable car, take the path that goes behind it and winds its way towards Lac de Puy Vachier.
At the lake, continue along the path to the Evariste Chancel refuge, but do not turn right at the next junction to the refuge. Turn left and head due south.
Aim for the gap that cuts into the ridge of Pêyrou d'Amont: the barely visible path winds between the boulders and patches of snow to reach the height of the gap. Cross horizontally to the left and reach the pass (alt. 2840m).
The return is on the same path as on the way out.
