ROUTE
This easy walk in the valley is recommended for families and young walkers. The waterfall is a perfect excuse for a picnic in the cool and to enjoy the different water points during the hot weather. A route that allows you to discover the hidden side of the Romanche plain and the banks of the Vénéon.
In Le Bourg-d'Oisans, go to the park in front of the town hall. Between the town hall and the church, follow rue Humbert towards “Villard-Notre-Dame”. At the end, follow the road on the left “chemin de St-Claude”, and not the road on the right which climbs to the village of Villard-Notre-Dame (a must-see! But drive up… The balcony road is narrow and suspended, a typical Oisans journey).
For 2 km you will follow a tarmac road, so for a more natural route look out on the right for a path that joins the road a little further on. Once you arrive at the sources of the Rive, where you can start your canoe or paddle trips on the peaceful Rive that crosses Le Bourg-d'Oisans, the route is now pedestrian. But not only that: you are on the greenway (hence the tarmac) and therefore many non-motorized vehicles share the area with you.
From there, you follow the cliff on your right until the waterfall. You then leave the greenway to follow the direction “cascade de la Pisse” which goes up to the right by a path.
Return by the same path, with a detour via Lake Buclet to soak up its luminous turquoise blue!
TO SEE ON THE COURSE
– the town hall park and its small bucolic pond
– the church and the Fauna and Minerals Museum
– the blue lake and its picnic area.
– Buclet Lake
– the Pisse waterfall
– the vast bed of the Vénéon and its Siberian appearance
