Col de Maronne par les Sures – Randonnée depuis Auris-en-Oisans
A hike through the heart of Europe's highest southern-facing spruce forest! This area is regularly frequented by chamois, so be careful and discreet.
Starting from Place des Ecrins, you will take Rue de Piégut and continue uphill. On your right, you will find the access to the trail with a PDIPR sign indicating the direction of Les Sures. A short climb through the forest will lead you to a track that will climb gently. At its end, take the path that goes off to the right, still in the direction of Les Sures. You will then follow the green trails ofAuris-en-Oisans on one side and overlook the Romanche Valley on the other. Once you arrive at Les Sures, the view from above is magnificent! You'll even see the famous Alpe d'Huez resort in front of you.
You can then go back down via the Col de Maronne to reach the resort.
