Col d'Ornon, Col de Parquetout

Le Bourg-d’Oisans
This fairly easy route which crosses the Lignarre valley is very popular with cyclists at the start of the season. The most courageous will take advantage of this warm-up to continue on the Valbonnais side towards the Col de Parquetout, one of the toughest in Isère.

ROUTE
From Bourg d'Oisans, take the D1091 towards Grenoble. After the second kilometer, turn left towards Valbonnais – la Mure – Ornon by the D526. The col d’Ornon is at the 14th kilometer. The last kilometers before the col d’Ornon are a little steeper than the entire route without ever being leg-breaking.
At the pass, you can stop at the lodges and restaurants of the ski resort of col d’Ornon.

THE “LITTLE EXTRA”: Parquetout Pass
If you are brave enough to go to the Col de Parquetout, the atmosphere changes radically! Although this climb is short, it will give you no respite. It is one of the hardest passes in Isère!
Max. slope 16%, average slope 10%, min. slope 9%… that sets the tone.

Since col d’Ornon, descend towards La Mure. Cross Chantelouve and Entraigues. At the 16th kilometer, leave the D526 by turning left just before the bridge that leads to Valbonnais, clearly visible with its wooden frame. You have 7 km left to drive on the D212f before the pass.
