De La Grave au col de Sarenne par l'Alpe d'Huez
This loop guarantees you a real change of scenery with the balconies ofAuris-en-Oisans, a real belvedere over the Romanche, then the legendary bends of theAlpe d'Huez, before ending with an immersion in the Ferrand valley and its wilder atmosphere.
At the exit of the cable car park, turn left towards Grenoble for about 16 km. During these 15 km, be careful when crossing the Grand Clos and Chambon tunnels, which are poorly lit, remember to make yourself visible to other vehicles.
Continue towards Ferney-d'Oisans after passing the Chambon dam.
When you arrive at Ferney-d'Oisans, take the D211a road on the right, after the petrol station, towards Auris-sur-Oisans, for around 6 km. Follow the road to the hamlet of La Balme.
Continue on the D211a road, called the “route de la Roche”, towards La Garde en Oisans. This narrow road is punctuated by 3 tunnels, cut into the side of the cliff.
In La Garde en Oisans, turn right at the crossroads at the church, towards Alpe d'Huez.
When you arrive at Alpe d'Huez, take the direction "Office de Tourisme", then continue to the top of the resort at "Le Cognet". Then, go back down via Avenue du Rif Nel. Go straight at the Tour de France roundabout then left at the next roundabout towards the altiport. After the altiport, take the "route du col de Sarenne " Cross the pass and descend into the Ferrand valley.
Head to the village of Clavans-le-Bas, on the D25A road, and continue to Mizöen. After a slightly steep descent, you will find the D1091. At the crossroads, turn left towards Briançon and go up the valley until you return to La Grave.
