Villar-d'Arêne
Follow in the footsteps of the Tour de France! This circuit invites you to tackle the legendary climb of theAlpe d'Huez with its 21 bends, its 13.8 km of climb at 7.9%.
From the car park, join the departmental road and take the direction of Grenoble. Be careful, about 1 km later, after two hairpin bends, cross the Ardoisières tunnel, followed by the crossing of the Serre du Coin tunnel, 1 km further. The tunnels are poorly lit, remember to make yourself visible to other vehicles.

At the exit of the Serre du Coin tunnel, continue straight ahead and cross the village of La Grave, towards Grenoble for approximately 15 km. During these 15 km, be careful when crossing the Grand Clos and Chambon tunnels. The tunnels are poorly lit, so remember to make yourself visible to other vehicles.

Pass the Chambon dam and continue on the RD 1091 to Bourg d'Oisans for 13km. On the way down, be careful when crossing the Infernet and Commères tunnels.

After a long straight, there is a roundabout marking the entrance to Bourg d'Oisans. Take the first exit on the right towards Alpe d'Huez.

After 1km of flat, start the climb. Be careful, manage your effort well during the first few kilometres: some sections are at 12%.

Once you arrive at Alpe d'Huez, head towards the Tourist Office, then follow the signs for the "Tour de France Route" until you reach the official finish line at the top of Avenue du Rif Nel.

Once there, turn around to go back down Avenue du Rif Nel. At the first roundabout, go straight on and at the next one. Continue down from Alpe d'Huez to Bourg d'Oisans.

When you reach the Bourg d'Oisans roundabout, take the 3rd exit on the left and go up the Romanche valley on the R 1091 until you return to Villar d'Arène (around 30 km).
