De Villar d'Arène jusqu'au Col du Lautaret
Hike on part of the GR50 which will lead to the Col du LautaretEnjoy a superb view of the Ecrins peaks.
From the village square of Villar d'Arène, turn right past the village supermarket, then take the small street next to the Gîte "Les Mélèzes". Continue straight on to the end.
1) The road turns into a path which is, in winter, the start of the Nordic Domain. Pass in front of the Oratory. On the road, turn left to join the departmental road.
2) Once on the road leading to Arsine, turn left to take the path 200 meters later allowing you to cross “across the field” on the path that runs alongside the road.
3) You join a road again, turn left towards the hamlet of Pied du Col.
4) Before entering the hamlet, take the first path on your left
5) At the intersection, continue straight ahead towards the Col du Lautaret.
6) After following the Lautaret road, you will have to cross it to reach a path opposite a few meters further on.
7) Finish by following the path to the top of the Col du Lautaret.
8) To return, follow the GR50 towards Villar d'Arène
9) Cross the Lautaret road carefully and take the path opposite which joins the foot of the Col.
10) Once you have passed the hamlet, join the road and take the path “across the fields” on the right again.
11) Turn onto the Arsine road and then turn right at the first intersection to return to the village streets.

11) Turn onto the Arsine road and then turn right at the first intersection to return to the village streets.
