Du Col du Lautaret au Col de l'Izoard

The Col de l'Izoard is one of the most legendary passes of the Tour de France. Climb it from another famous pass in the Alps: the Col du Lautaret!
Detailed itinerary:

– At the exit of the car park, turn right towards Briançon on the RD 1091 and go down the Serre Chevalier valley

– Arrived at Monêtier-les-Bains, cross the village while staying on the RD 1091 and continue towards Briançon

– At Salle Les Alpes, stay on the main road RD 1091 and continue towards Briançon

– At Chantemerle, cross the Serre Chevalier 1350 station towards Briançon

– Arrived in Briançon, continue towards Grenoble. At the Alpes roundabout (Géant Casino is just below), take the direction of Grenoble on the RN 94. Pass in front of Géant Casino (on the left). Ignore the crossroads on the left. Then, the road has two lanes, take the left fork and take the direction of the City Center, Avenue du Général Barbot.

– Go down Avenue du Général Barbot. At the next roundabout, continue straight on Avenue du 159e RIA.

– At the next roundabout, take the 2nd exit and go up Rue Centrale (one-way street).

– At the end of Rue Centrale, take the 3rd exit at the roundabout, towards the Col de l’Izoard. Continue on the RD 902 to Cervières

– Arrived in Cervières, continue on the RD 902 towards the Col de l'Izoard. Cross the hamlet of Laus and make the 7 km climb to the top of the pass.

– The return is by the same route.

– When you arrive in Briançon, at the Col de l’Izoard roundabout, take the 4th exit then the 1st road on the left to pass in front of the E.LECLERC store (on your left). At the roundabout in front of the store, take the 1st exit on the right. At the next roundabout (Crédit Mutuel bank on your right), also take the 1st exit on the right. At the next roundabout, take the 4th exit to get back to Avenue du 159e RIA.

– Then the rest of the route is the same until returning to the top of the Col du Lautaret
