Falaise de Pré Gentil par le Col Saint Jean – Rando
A day hike through the woods, starting from Bourg d'Oisans towards Villard Reymond and its place called Prégentil, with dizzying passages and breathtaking views.
The start of this trail is above the Bourg d'Oisans gymnasium. You have to cross the bed of the Saint Antoine torrent (dry most of the time) and follow the path that goes up. You will first cross a deciduous forest, then a fairly arid Scots pine forest and arrive at Le Puy where you will have a superb view of the Bourg d'Oisans plain, the Grandes Rousses and the ski resorts. At Le Puy, follow the direction of the Col Saint Jean. The trail then climbs gently in bends, meeting a grassy forest track. Some vertiginous passages are protected by cables, before emerging on an alpine area allowing you to reach the Col Saint Jean. From there, it is possible to climb to Prégentil from where you can observe a magnificent panorama. The return is possible by the same path (the descent takes an hour less) or by taking the postman's path (see other route)
