Freerando depuis Le Chazelet
At the top of the Emparis ski lift you can look down on the entire area to imagine sequences, put on and take off your skins to better choose your slopes: bliss.
As for the Plagnes ski lift, to the north of the resort, it is ideally located to reach the Signal de La Grave and even more if you have affinity and good calves.
This starting point for freerando is located on the Chazelet estate:
Le Chazelet is a small family resort, but behind its peaceful atmosphere hides a formidable free rando potential to make skins and spatulas smoke. For the moment only the initiated know it… but Le Chazelet is already “the place to be” as soon as the “White Spirit” gets involved.
Routes from the Emparis and Les Plagnes ski lifts to Chazelet:
– Tour of Gros Têt
From the top of the Emparis ski lift, take the southern ridge, pass the Col de la Brèche (2350 m) then the summit of Gros Têt (2613 m). The descent? Depending on your mood: an east face to follow the right bank and return to the track or retrace your steps and choose your line... to start again better.
– Crossing the Emparis plateau
From the top of the Emparis ski lift, you just need to reach the summit of Gros Têt by following the ridge in order to cross the Emparis plateau to the Saint-Georges pass (2245 m) and descend the slopes along the GR to the village of Besse-en-Oisans (car shuttle).
– The Signal of La Grave
Follow the Côte Rouge ridge and reach the summit of Signal de La Grave (2446 m). It's up to you to choose your route to reach the hamlet of Valfroide. Car shuttle to return to Le Chazelet.
Option to go up to the Col de l'Aiguillon (+220 m) and go down to Villar d'Arène (car shuttle).
