Freerando depuis le col du Lautaret
A paradise for snowkiting, the Col du Lautaret is no less so for free rando! Easy road access, slopes for all tastes and all calves, a landscape from a magazine and snow late in the season... What more could you ask for?
This starting point for freerando is located at the Col du Lautaret:
The Lautaret pass is an ideal ski departure point due to its altitude and road access. Add a bar, a restaurant, good local honey to buy at the pass, an atmosphere and an irreplaceable panorama, and you are in one of the paradises of free rando, Oisans version.
ROUTES from the Lautaret pass:
– Col des Clochettes
From the Lautaret pass, join the Col des Clochettes (2549 m) for a beautiful crossing from west to east. We join the Briançon road and then everything is good to teleport to our starting point: a stroke of skins, a hitchhike, a stroke of luck...
– Col de Laurichard > Villar d’Arène
First 600 m of climbing to reach the Laurichard pass (2654 m) for a beautiful descent towards the exit of the old EDF tunnel. Climb on skins for about a hundred meters at the exit of the woods, then descent with a view of Villar d'Arène (car shuttle).
– Col de Côte Plaine > Villar d'Arène
Climb to the Côte Plaine pass (2639 m) via the Roche Noire valley, then descend on the south face towards the Pontet lake. Exit depending on the snow to the hamlet of Cours (1779 m), or Villar d'Arène (1650 m).
