Freerando depuis les 2 Alpes – télésiège du Signal ou Les Travers
From the top of the Signal chairlift (3171 m) you have a beautiful view of Mont Blanc and the Aiguilles d'Arves. In the Pied Moutet sector, the descent of the Travers is a classic off-piste.
This valley is a real cold pit, the snow is always powdery, well mountain huted! It is also a refuge for wild animals.
This starting point for freerando is located in the 2 Alpes area:
Thanks to easy access up to 3600 m, Les 2 Alpes offer you magnificent off-piste routes with an altitude difference of up to 2400 m in a grandiose high mountain atmosphere. The ski area is located on the western slopes of the massif of the Meije, between Romanche to the north and Vénéon to the south. We present few free rando routes here because the terrain, relief and configuration of Les 2 Alpes are more favorable to major off-piste skiing than to free rando, but you can always use your skins for training.
ROUTES from the Signal and Super chairlifts Venosc :
– The forbidden valley / La Sure
From the top of the Signal chairlift (3171 m), take the valley to the left of Roche Pourrie (2891 m) to finish with one of the more or less tricky corridors “Suite et fin”, “l'interdit” or “Jeferson”. Then put on your skins for a 150 m climb to the north to the Sure ridge. From there you can go back down to the 2 Alpes area or continue your ascent to the summit of Sure (2451 m) to go down to the village of Cuculet.
– The Travers
From the top of the Super chairlift Venosc (2106 m) cross the pass and head north. Descend into the Combe des Travers to La Rollandière, then put on your skins to climb the steep footpath to La Molière. From the hamlets of La Molière you can go back up to Les 2 Alpes via the cross-country ski trails or go down.
