La traversée de la Meije
Demanding, long, aerial, the crossing of the Meije is part of the myth and represents THE race in Oisans.

Location details
From Bourg-d'Oisans, take the RN 91 towards Briançon, then follow Venosc, La Bérarde on the D530. Park just before the village of La Bérarde, and take the Châtelleret – Promontoire trail on the left. Climb in 5 hours to the Promontoire refuge, at 3 m.

The crossing of the Meije can be done as long as the south face of the Meije is not snowy; these dates are therefore indicative
