Lac des Quirlies
A wonderful hike in the Ferrand valley, between the Grandes Rousses mountain range and the Emparis plateau to reach a lake that recently appeared following the retreat of the glacier.
Before leaving, observe the house leaning against the large rock. Take the marked path to first reach the Ferrand Bridge and the majestic waterfall.
Climb up the wide path that overlooks it then cross a new bridge to gradually sink into the very green valley while now staying on the right bank of the torrent. The path then follows a pleasant profile to cross a multitude of small streams from the upper valleys. Pass successively at the junction of the Clos Chevaleret path (a hike for another day), near the Bruyères pastoral hut then at the bottom of the valley near a sheep park.
On this wide flat area, you have to cross the torrent to climb up to the Pierre de l'Oiseau.
Leave the path on the right going up to the Sauvage ridge and take the path on the left going up to the lake. This is only deglaciated from mid-July.
The return is made by the same path to Perron.
