Moors, peat bogs and rocky environments of the Taillefer Massif have led to the award of the Natura 2000 label. Remarkable for its biological richness, the site is home to 28 "habitats" of community interest, 5 of which are priorities for their conservation.

The Taillefer Natura 2000 site is an exceptional natural area, which nevertheless remains particularly fragile and vulnerable. As a result, specific regulations apply there.
Swimming and camping prohibited
Bivouac prohibited except in bivouac areas reserved for this purpose, and only from 19 p.m. to 9 a.m.

Beautiful hike through different levels of vegetation leading to the Taillefer plateau and Lake Fourchu, also called the plateau of lakes.
This hike will allow you to discover the magnificent Fourchu Lake, one of the must-see hikes in the Taillefer massif. The route crosses different levels of vegetation before opening onto a spectacular alpine landscape, with beautiful panoramas of the Taillefer plateau and the surrounding peaks.

ITINERARY :
From the La Grenonière car park, the trail begins with a gentle climb through a forest of deciduous and coniferous trees, offering beautiful views towards the Romanche valley. The path continues, gradually gaining altitude, crossing alpine meadows where the mountain flora is rich and varied.

After reaching the Taillefer plateau, the route reveals a vast area dotted with lakes and ponds, including Lake Fourchu, surrounded by meadows and rock formations. The wild beauty of the plateau and the breathtaking view of the surrounding ridges make it a perfect place for a break or a picnic. The return route is via the same path, allowing you to appreciate the diversity of the landscapes once again.
