Lac Noir et lac Lérié depuis le Chazelet

La Grave
From Le Chazelet, the hike takes the GR54 to reach the Emparis plateau and skirt the Lac Noir and the Lac Lérié…
From the starting point of Chazelet (1770 m), go down towards the village along the car park. At the first junction, do not go up into the village but take a hairpin bend on the right towards the foot of the ski lifts.

Cross the Gâ at the start of the chairlift then follow the wide hairpins which go up the entire eastern slope of the Plateau d'Emparis (GR54).
Pass the benches (2060 m) and, at the crossroads, continue straight on, still on the GR54. Pass under the ski lift, cross the Rif du Galan and the Rif du Caturgeas, and continue to the Col du Souchet
When you reach the pass, leave the first path on the left (Lérié Lake) and take the second, which cuts across to reach a small lake (sometimes dry); at the crossroads, turn left towards Lac Noir.
Leave the path that goes off to the right and arrive at the shores of Lac Noir. Admire the incomparable view of the Écrins glaciers and La Meije (3 m). Continue to Lake Lerié, due east, along it on the left. Go back up to the pass.
At the intersection with the GR54, take the outward path on the right and return by the same path to the Chazelet station.
