Le belvédère de l'Homme
Easy half-day outing from the Col du Lautaret in a high mountain landscaped setting offering views of the Meije, perched glaciers and the Romanche valley.
From the car park under the Lautaret pass, go up towards Laurichard to quickly reach a crossroads.
Turn right and leave the Laurichard trail. Cross a footbridge to gradually climb up the hillside. The trail crosses several streams, the megaphorbiaie and shrubby areas to lead to a more open area – where sheep sometimes graze – and reach the L'Homme viewpoint.
Do not cross the barrier, retrace your steps to reach the start.
