Le chemin du facteur
Until the 1970s, the postman made his rounds on foot. Follow in his footsteps by taking the GR54 trail from La Grave at Chazelet. Your path will be embellished with "stamps" of painted flowers that the postman may have lost along the way.
From the Tourist Office of La Grave, go up the whole village towards the church, leave it on the left and continue straight uphill, pass the last houses to come across the first painted sign illustrating "the postman".
At the first small hairpin bend, you should already have discovered three small explanatory signs concerning the following plants: “The Centaurea”; “The Yellow Foxglove” and “The Aster”. Continue by taking the steep path in front of you which allows you to cut the next hairpin bend.
You now take the GR54 path which allows you to climb the “Champs Lombards” to the village of Terrasses.
Once you reach the foot of the village of Terrasses, take the small path in front of you (not on the right). Pass the house “Le Bleuet” then continue up the road crossing the village. Pay attention, you should come across 5 small signs. Go along the church “Saint Matthieu” then cross the road to find the small path to the right of the fountain.
Once at the top of the path you will take a small portion of road, at the first junction on your right, take the path again allowing you to pass behind the house above the cemetery.
Cut the road again to pick up the path in front of you. You are then at the “Col des Portes” at 1835m, discover the Oratoire du Chazelet and the Perchoir.
Go down towards the village of Chazelet by road, at the next junction stay on the left, the last small sign is opposite the “Relais d'Emparis”.
From Chazelet, go back down the same path or via the chapel of Notre Dame de Bon Repos.
