Le Col du Galibier
The flat Bourg-d'Oisans offers a nice warm-up before the formidable climb of this 2646 m giant of the Alps. Not to mention that you will have to cross the Lautaret pass before reaching the Galibier. High mountain atmosphere guaranteed!

ROUTE
From Bourg-d'Oisans, take the direction “Briançon / Les 2 Alpes” by the D1091 to the Chambon dam. You will cross 4 lit tunnels on this section, for your safety, make sure you are visible.
When you reach the dam, continue towards “Briançon / La Grave” up to the Lautaret pass (2058 m).
From Lautaret, turn left towards the Col du Galibier. You have 8 km of a sustained climb left to reach the summit.
Be careful of the effects of altitude which can be felt from 2000 m.
