Le Faubourg
The Faubourg circuit is a trail offering you a variation to combine the descent to the hamlet of Bessay and an ascent to the Plan du Cerf.
A slightly more sporty variant, allowing you to discover both the Hameau du Bessay below the station, and the view from the top of the Plan du Cerf. Bring a map.
TECHNICAL INFORMATIONS :
Departure: Tourist Office
Distance: 4 km
Height difference: approximately 320m
Duration: 1h30
Directions: Go down the road as if you were leaving the resort. Just before the “Oz-en-Oisans” entrance sign, turn left onto the path towards “Le Faubourg / Le Bessay”. An old mountain pasture path lined with stone walls, it goes down into the forest then joins a wider track. Turn left and continue downhill. Continue towards the hamlet of Bessay. You then cross the torrent which is located in the “La Combe du Pissarot”. At the Bessay washhouse, take the path on the right and climb up to the road. The climb continues opposite, towards “Longes Pièces / Le Plan du Cerf”. The climb is quite steep and long. At the first wooden directional sign, continue uphill (do not turn right > dead end). When you reach the summit crossroads, take the direction “Oz Station”. A few steps further on, continue on your way to the right at the cabin. You cross the torrent again. The walk ends in the heart of the Oz Forest Leisure Park. Return to the starting point by passing the tennis court and crossing the pedestrian zone.
