Le GR54 de La Grave à Arsine
Path connecting the village of La Grave at the small place called Arsine after Villar d'arène by the GR54.
From the tourist office at La Grave, follow the main road until you leave the village towards Villar d'arène.
Opposite the “Le Sérac” hotel, go down the small road towards the arboretum.
At the bottom of the descent, continue straight ahead to cross the Romanche and cross the bridge.
Take the path to the left of the bridge. At the fork, follow the GR50/54 which climbs towards Les Vernois. At this point, you are dominated by the Tabuchet glacier and the Meije.
Continue then cross the Chal d'Outre woods by a wide path.
The path leads to a small bridge to enter the village of Villar d'arène, follow the GR50/54 without crossing it in order to continue the hike.
Continue along the path along the Romanche for around 45 minutes.
At the “Pont des Brebis”, turn left to join the small road to arrive at Arsine near the campsite or the gîte.
On the way back, take the same route as on the way there to Villar d'Arène, then cross the bridge over the Durance.
Go past the Church of Saint-Martin and then follow the Romanche River until you cross it again a little further on. Continue until you reach the starting route.
