Le lac de la Muzelle

Les Deux Alpes
This hike winds through a forest of conifers and beeches to the refuge and the Muzelle lake.
From the car park which borders the left bank of the Vénéon just after the bridge, take the narrow street which leads to the end of the hamlet of Alleau.

Cross the small bridge and take the paved path that climbs steeply into the forest. After a few bends, a long, relaxing crossing allows you to reach “le Cerisier”, a group of ruined houses. Continue on the path that runs along the left bank of the Muzelle torrent, its bends lead to a few waterfalls that are welcome in very hot weather.
Arriving at the foot of a large schist slope, the path crosses the torrent and zigzags in multiple bends to reach a beautiful lawn, then a basin filled by a peat bog. Finally, it comes out on a small bump to see the Muzelle lake and its refuge.
Go back down the same path.
