Le lac de Plan Vianney et la brèche du Périer

Les Deux Alpes
Of more modest dimensions and reputation than Lauvitel, Lake Plan Vianney is nevertheless worth the detour, as is the panorama offered over Valbonnais and Oisans from the Périer breach.
Cross the Danchère and continue to the crossroads near the Lauvitel stream.

Go back up the paved path on the left, on the right bank of the stream. Cross the Selles stream at a water catchment then climb in a winding path through the hardwoods and spruces. After crossing a cleared area, come out onto a flat area that leads to the edge of the Lauvitel (1530 m).
On the right, cross towards the cabins through large blocks.
Take a path on the left which goes up a balcony above the lake.
Cross the Héritière stream then, further on, the Mas stream and continue the winding climb on the left bank of the Plan Vianney stream. Cross it and reach the upper valley. Go back up this valley and cross a first rocky ledge by winding up a small grassy corridor (steep slope), then a second, less steep one.
Join the Plan Vianney lake (2250 m) before taking the path that goes off on a balcony on the right above the lake. Pass over the rocky bars and reach a fork at the foot of the last slope. Go right and climb a vague steep corridor (loose stones) that opens onto the ridge. Follow it on the right and finish at the highest point (2576 m).
For the return, take the same route in reverse.
