Cross the Danchère and continue along a good path to the crossroads near the Lauvitel stream (Ecrins National Park sign).
Go back up the paved path on the left, on the right bank of the stream. The path is bordered by dry stone walls which mark out cultivated fields.
Cross the Selles stream at a catchment area and then climb up in a winding path through the hardwoods and spruces. Cross numerous springs which are more likely to be resurgences of the lake. After crossing an open area with beautiful meadows, come out onto a flat area which leads to the edge of the Lauvitel (1530 m).
To return, follow the lake towards the cabins. At the fork, take the path on the right which goes back down to the Danchère on the left bank of the stream. Back at the Danchère, cross the hamlet in the opposite direction to reach the car park.
