ROUTE

You're in the thick of it! Cross the small hamlets of Auris and join the valley to Freney. Turn right towards Bourg d'Oisans (D 1091), go down 3.7 km to the third intersection on the left to take the D220: be careful, there are no signs indicating this small road which climbs and winds through the forest. Then the road opens out into a balcony all the way to Mont-de-Lans.
Go down and cross the dam, turn left towards Mizoën, a small village perched above the lake. You then attack the col de Sarenne : 13 km with a 954 m elevation gain and an average gradient of 7,45%! A beautiful, sporty section, punctuated by viewpoints up to the highest point of the route made famous by the 2013 Tour de France.
Then the road takes you to Alpe d'Huez. Go down to Huez, turn right towards Villard-Reculas which you will reach via the “Pas de la confession” road.
Go down direction Allemond. After several hairpin bends, take the 2nd intersection on the right (le Boulangeard), then continue on a narrow road to the cemetery of Oz-en-Oisans. Turn left and reach the Verney lake. Go along it, taking a right towards “le Rivier d'Allemond”. To go around the lake, turn left 2 km after starting the climb, towards “Allemond Church”. The Villaret road goes to the church, from where you will descend to the plain. Turn right and at Rochetaillé, turn left to reach Bourg d'Oisans with a final enthusiastic pedal stroke.
THE LITTLE EXTRA: 31 km, +1159 m
To finish off the balconies of Oisans in style, complete with the itinerary “Villard-Notre-Dame et Villard-Reymond".
