Les crêtes de la croix du Carrelet
A beautiful, peaceful trilogy loop combining the tranquility of the mountain pastures, ridge landscapes and the gentleness of the forest.
From the car park, go down the road for about a hundred metres.
Take the path on the left towards “Col de Corbière”.
After crossing several valleys, the path begins a winding climb through the magnificent flowery meadows of the pastures. The path then leads steeply down to the Grand Riou (1608m), offering a plunging view over the wild torrent and its potholes.
From the Grand Riou, take the path on the left. The winding climb crosses this immense cirque of the Grand Renaud then branches sharply to the left to the Clot de La Selle (2083m).
Continue along the slope in the grass below the ridge until you reach it. The view is then panoramic up to the Croix de Carrelet.
From the Croix du Carrelet, go down the winding path, then enter a forest of larches, pines and spruces. Then take the path on the left to the Col des Maisons du Loup (1785m).
At the pass, turn left towards Villard-Reymond.
When you arrive at the village, take the road on the left which crosses it to return to the car park
