Les glaciers des 2 Alpes (Circuit n°13)
A high-altitude getaway is a must! Discover the kingdom of eternal snow at an altitude of 3400m. At your feet, an ocean of peaks and jagged peaks will open up. A beautiful journey!
Departing from Bourg d'Oisans, this circuit is approximately 44 km round trip.
Between heaven and earth, this excursion will allow you to approach the soul of Oisans: the high mountains.
Bring a light sweater because even in summer, at over 3 m altitude, the north wind shows its teeth. Get a transport ticket (at the ski lift ticket offices). The gondola will take you to the underground funicular, the Dôme Express. A snow metro dug under the glacier in 000.
Don't miss the visit of ↘the ice cave. At 3200 m, at the arrival of the Jandri Express, under hundreds of cubic meters of thousand-year-old ice, you will encounter these strange sculptures dug into the ice. A strange atmosphere in a bluish and silent universe.
It is also an opportunity to test the new footbridge “le belvédère des Écrins”: a narrow metal footbridge stretched over the void (1400 m of “gas”) at an altitude of 3400 m. Thrills guaranteed!
To warm up, back on dry land, you are spoiled for choice: a big dip in the pool, a stroll along the banks of the ↘Lac de la Buissonnière or a short stroll through the streets of the resort.
