Les lacs de la Muzelle et du Lauvitel
Attention! The path between the Danchère and the Alleau on the left bank of the Vénéon is closed due to landslides. To loop, from the Lac du Lauvitel, go back down to the Danchère, take the Etroits footbridge, the RD530 (watch out for machinery) and join
At the exit of the hamlet of Alleau, cross the small bridge and take the paved path that climbs steeply into the forest. Continue on the path that runs along the left bank of the Muzelle torrent. Arriving at the foot of a large schist slope, the path crosses the torrent and zigzags in multiple bends to reach a beautiful lawn, then a basin filled with a peat bog. Finally, come out onto a small bump to see the Muzelle lake and its refuge.
From there, go down to the lake, follow it on the right until its spillway and cross the bridge.
At the fork, turn right into the pastures. Cross the rocky area following the cairns. The path continues to the pass on a steep grassy slope.
The descent to the Lauvitel is on the right bank of the Embernard stream, taking numerous bends and crossing a few rocky slabs and a valley.
We arrive at the Lauvitel lake and its chalets via the Pré des Selles. From there, join the Danchère by turning right at the fork. The descent is along an old paved path framed by low walls. Note the Ste Croix oratory just before arriving at the first houses of the Danchère.
To reach Le Bourg d'Arud on foot, cross the Danchère and, at the exit of the hamlet, take the path along the Vénéon on the left bank.
