Les lacs du Plateau d’Emparis au départ de Besse
A pleasant route to discover the lakes of the Emparis plateau.
Take the pastoral road at the exit of Besse.
At the Salce stream, leave it for the path that climbs up to the Nazié pass (1 m). Leave it on the right and continue the climb up to the ruins of the Chalet Josserand (902 m).
At the Saint-George pass, continue on the GR54 by taking the path on the right towards the Emparis plateau. Pass the ruins of the Chalet Favre and continue through the mountain pastures to the chalets and torrent of the Rif Tord (2 m).
At the confluence of the torrents where there are several directional signs, continue on the GR54 path which leads gently down to the Col du Souchet.
Take the first path on the right which leads to Lake Lérié. Continue to Lake Noir and admire the view of the glaciers and the MeijeContinue, leave the path which goes off to the right and reach the Cristallin lake, sometimes dry (2360m).
Back at the confluence of the torrents, take the starting path (GR) via the Col de Saint George until Besse.
