Les Lacs supérieurs
A unique hiking trail, perched on the balcony of the Superior Lakes at an altitude of 2800m. Ideal for discovering lakes resulting from glacial digging and their turquoise waters.
A must-see mid-mountain hike during your summer stay! This circuit, easily accessible thanks to the cable cars, will allow you to discover the wonders of the Massif des Grandes Rousses. In this mineral and wild landscape, let yourself be absorbed by the unique atmosphere of this vast natural plateau. At the start of the hike, enjoy the view of Lac Blanc!
Possibility of stopping for lunch at the Refuge de la Fare. Departure from Lac de la Fare, follow the OBP trail n°262 to the Alpette.
TECHNICAL INFORMATIONS :
Departure: DMC2 cable car 2700m (take a pedestrian pass)
Distance: 7km
Height difference: approximately 100m
Duration: 2h30
Maximum altitude: 2800m
Marking precision: From Oz Station, take the Poutran gondola to 2100m, then the DMC2 to 2700m. Follow trail no. 263, passing by Lac du Milieu, to Lac de la Fare. Retrace your steps and follow the trail to Lac Blanc above Alpe d'Huez. Descent possible by ski lifts: DMC2 + Poutran or by TPH2 2800m + Alpette.

PLEASE NOTE: These lakes, formed by glacial digging, have only been exposed for about a few centuries. This is why vegetation is rare, the soil being poor and not very thick.
