Les Plagnes par les Clots
This varied route allows you to discover the small ski resort of Chazelet and offers an exceptional panorama of the north face of the Meije as well as all the villages in the canton.
From the car park, go up the tarmac road for around 200 m towards the village.
Turn left before the first houses and take the Chemin des Plagnes. After about 200 m, go up to the right by a small path that joins a cross. Follow the path that crosses the hay fields uphill until the second hairpin bend. At this point, take the small path (place called Founcato) that joins the ski lift then runs alongside it until the wooden cross (place called Jacques Mathonet). Continue on the path that crosses the Plagnes ski lift and join the path that leads towards the Martignare valley. Turn right and follow the markings to the "Col des Plagnes" (2106 m) on the edge of the Chazelet forest.
Go down the narrow path that leads to the hamlet of Les Clots (1916 m) (leave the path on the left that leads to La Celle des Juges). Cross the upper part of the hamlet and take the balcony path on the right. Cross the small slate quarries (cables) and join the wide track that passes under the forest.
Go down towards the oratory via the orientation table.
Join the road and take it for 300 m towards Chazelet. Cross the village to reach the starting point of the route.
